Stars & Vellum began over on Instagram in 2022 as I rediscovered my love for reading. I’m Laura, blogger, reader, gardener & witch. I’ve known for a long time that I wanted to start a blog but could never bring myself to follow through with it. What if I wasn’t interesting enough? What if no one read my blogs? What if I fail? If there’s one thing that turning 30 taught me, it was that if you want something badly enough, those questions don’t matter. And from there, this blog was formed.
I always struggle with summing up who I am as a person. I’m the type of person who has more hobbies than time, more passions than the fruit and likes to live in organised chaos. I have been a practicing witch for over 16 years, I love gardening, I love knitting, I love art, I love drinking a hot cup of black coffee every morning and I just love “doing” things. I’ve been reading since I learned to read, but through the years I stopped reading as much due to school, and then due to work. I think a lot of us fall into that cycle. I would only read 1 or 2 books a year during that time. Then in 2022 I found A Court of Thorns and Roses and like many others, that kicked off my love for reading again. I am now reading every single day and have discovered a love for Fantasy, Horror, Thriller and Dark Romance books! I’m so excited to finally have a creative outlet where I can share my love for books.
In Stars & Vellum, I’ll be sharing all types of blogs. From book reviews and recommendations, to bookstore highlights and book hauls. I’ll also be sharing some more lifestyle related blogs. I live in a 120 year old cottage in Ireland and love to travel so there’s always something going on here!
